There are so many things to consider and decisions to make when buying a vehicle. And now, with all kinds of EVs added to the mix, you need to consider whether you want to buy a new electric vehicle or stick with a reliable used SUV, such as a used Honda Pilot. So, which one gets you more for your money?

Used SUVs = Lower Upfront Costs

If you need to stick to a budget and need to keep your upfront costs to a minimum, a traditional gas-powered used SUV is probably your best choice. A new EV will have a higher sticker price than something like a used Honda Pilot or Chevy Traverse.

Paying for Gas vs Paying for Electricity

Charging an EV is generally cheaper than filling a gas tank, especially if you do most of your charging at home. Public charging stations can be expensive, so if you do a lot of traveling, you’ll want to consider how much it will cost to recharge on the road and the time it takes to charge your battery as opposed to filling a tank.
The price of gas is always fluctuating, but it is usually more expensive than charging an electric car. Home charging is the most cost-effective way to keep your EV’s battery charged.

Insurance Costs – This is Where You’ll Save With a Gas-Powered SUV

Car insurance is a big factor to keep in mind when shopping for and buying a vehicle. A used SUV will be cheaper to insure than any new vehicle, but a new EV is even more expensive to insure because of the high cost of repairs.
EVs often require specially trained mechanics to perform major repairs because they are more complex in nature. On the other hand, a good old used Honda Pilot can be taken to your Honda dealership for repairs or to your trusted neighborhood mechanic when you need a quick oil change or tire rotation.

Depreciation, Depreciation, Depreciation

Have you ever bought a new car and had to buy extra insurance to cover the gap between how much you paid and how much it’s worth after you drive it off the dealership lot? New vehicles depreciate up to 20% in the first two years, and recent studies have shown that EVs have an even steeper decline than gasoline-powered vehicles in the first few years.
You can get ahead of this depreciation by buying a used SUV. Even a newer model used one will have already taken the biggest hit by the time you get it, so you can just enjoy your lower car payment and better value.

Rebates and Tax Incentives

There are pros and cons to buying a new EV and a used SUV. It all comes down to what you want and need. EVs, both new and used, are eligible for tax incentives and rebates to help with the initial cost, but used SUVs are cheaper to start with.

There are several ways to drive around the 10/10ths Motor Club track, including during an Electric Celebrity Pro-Am event, which is a bit unusual but still fun.

Most of the cars displayed and driven around the new track situated next to the Charlotte Motor Speedway are loud and raucous and can be heard from miles away. That’s a huge part of the lure of the area, but the evening events after the Historic Trans Am racing presented onlookers with something a little different. That difference was nothing short of electrifying (pardon my tortured pun).

What is the Electric Celebrity Pro-Am Race?

To be fair, the electric part isn’t actually part of the name, but it’s part of the point going into this interesting and unique racing event. The Celebrity Pro-Am Race, held as part of the Heritage Invitational, paired amateur drivers with racing legends. In order for amateurs to qualify to race in the event, they paid a donation fee to support Speedway Children’s Charities.

The exclusive event gives these amateur drivers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be teamed up with some of the most iconic drivers in motorsports while also supporting a noble cause. These amateurs were paired with:

  • Jeff Gordon
  • Tommy Kendall
  • Katherine Legge
  • Patrick Long
  • Max Papis
  • Kyle Petty
  • Scott Pruett
  • Boris Said

How did amateurs get paired with these pros?

Pro-Am Racers Group Photo

During an exclusive, invite-only dinner the night before, the amateur drivers were given the opportunity to bid to be paired with their preferred professional racers. With all proceeds going to Speedway Children’s Charities and the A-list of drivers, there weren’t any losers during this event.

What is Speedway Children’s Charities?

This charity organization is dedicated to supporting Charlotte-area nonprofits that serve the needs of children. Through strategic funding and community partnerships, this organization focuses on three critical areas of need for children: providing critical support for vulnerable children facing homelessness, food insecurity, and exploitation. The organization helps ensure access to essential medical care, including treatment, therapy, and disability services.

This charity organization is near and dear to Marcus Smith’s heart and family. Marcus Smith is the CEO of Speedway Motorsports, LLC, and also serves as Chairman of the board of Speedway Children’s Charities. The charity organization was founded by O. Bruton Smith, Marcus’s father, who began the charity in 1982 as a legacy to his son, Bruton Cameron Smith, who passed away at a young age.

Let’s get to the racing

Start Line Electric Celebrity Pro-Am

Once pros and amateurs were paired together for the race, the only remaining variables were the cars to be driven. Each team would take turns driving around the 10/10ths Motor Club course in all-electric Porsche Macan Turbos, hence the electric part of the race.

During racing, it was hard for spectators to know that racing had begun because the all-electric Porsche SUVs are basically silent, but they sure are quick. As soon as the first driver hit the first corner and made the tires squeal, spectators who were mingling in the clubhouse knew the event had begun on the track.

The course made more difficult

Cones On The Track During Electric Celebrity Pro-Am

The new 10/10ths Motor Club track is challenging enough, with several turns over a short road-style course, but during this Electric Celebrity Pro-Am event, it was made more difficult. Cones were set up at various locations along the track to test drivers’ skills even further. This created narrow passages for racers. In some cases, these cones were set to cause drivers to slalom through them to push their steering skills over short distances.

The home team takes the checkered flag

Each race during the Electric Celebrity Pro-Am event consisted of one vehicle on the track at a time. The Porsche SUVs were timed from the start to the finish line, which wasn’t quite a complete run of the short course, but made for some fun, timed runs. As the pairs competed, teams were whittled down until only one remained as the winner.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that Jeff Gordon and his teammate won the race. While competition was fierce, Jeff has been instrumental in the development of the track and has spent at least some time racing around it before the event. That is, of course, part of the advantage of being part of the home team.

Regardless of who won the race, there weren’t any losers during the event. The proceeds from the bids for team pairings go directly to the charity organization, the amateurs got to be paired with some incredible pros, the electric Porsche SUVs handled the drive masterfully, and everyone had a lot of fun. Altogether, another successful and amazing event and the first of its kind on the 10/10ths Motor Club track.

If you’re looking for one of the best hybrids for the money, the 2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid should be on your list. It was recently recognized by Cars.com in its list of Best Hybrids for the Money. The Sportage Hybrid was crowned the winner of the Compact SUV category and is the second year in a row it’s won this honor.

Prioritizing Value and Innovation

Kia hybrids and Kia electric vehicles are garnering praise for value and innovation. The Cars.com list puts hybrid vehicles in the spotlight with an evaluation based on efficiency and cost. This is calculated by dividing the EPA rating for combined mpg by the vehicle’s base price. The new Kia Sportage Hybrid won its segment by delivering impressive value in both areas.

The 2025 Cars.com list focuses on hybrids that aren’t plug-ins for the current model year. The Sportage Hybrid won the compact SUV category thanks to its attractively affordable starting price and its high combined mpg rating. Add in a spacious cabin and modern tech, and it’s easy to see why it won the category.

Kia K4 Recognized for its Attractive Cabin

Not to be outdone, one of Kia’s traditional gas vehicles getting recognition is the Kia K4. The K4 was named the winner of Wards 10 Best Interiors. This list evaluates new or strongly redesigned vehicle interiors and the user-friendly level of included technology. Design, aesthetics, comfort, materials, and connectivity are all taken into account.

For the 2025 competition, a total of 34 vehicles were evaluated. Kia put impressive work into the K4’s cabin with plenty of modern tech and quality materials. The K4’s optional black and white cabin theme comes with advanced tech features and sharp infotainment graphics. It’s also impressively spacious for passengers and cargo.

Kia Bolsters Its Electric Lineup

The lineup of Kia electric vehicles is bigger than ever, with several options, including the EV6, EV9, Niro EV, and EV5. Kia has one of the largest lineups of electric vehicles and is rumored to be adding an electric pickup soon. Kia already has the Kia Tasman pickup, but that’s not the version coming to the US market in the future.

Kia plans to introduce an electric pickup based on a new EV platform. It will feature an impressive interior with plenty of cargo space, off-road ability, and an advanced towing system. The details are pretty sketchy so far, but the mention of off-road ability should set the new Kia pickup apart from the Hyundai Santa Fe. The fact that it will use a new EV platform will also set it apart from the current Kia EV lineup.

Kia added in its statement that it expects to sell around 90,000 EV pickups. However, this may be an unrealistic goal since the Ford Lightning has barely reached 30,000 units sold in a year. The good news is that the EV pickup will likely be made in the US, thus avoiding expensive tariffs.

More options exist for going green than ever at your local Chevy dealer. Find out what you need to know about the automaker’s impressive electric vehicles.

More drivers are switching from conventional gas-burning cars to EVs every year, and Chevrolet is doing a great job of keeping up with their changing demands. Let’s look at the top EVs found at your local Chevy dealer.

The Equinox EV Is Capable and Affordable

The Chevrolet Equinox EV is one of America’s most affordable EV SUVs. With 319 miles of range and speedy DC fast-charging times, it offers a fantastic value to drivers shopping on a budget.

The Equinox EV features GM’s innovative new battery platform, which allows it to add around 70 miles of range in just ten minutes on a fast charger. The EV SUV has 57.2 cu ft of flexible cargo space and comfortable seating for up to five people.

Drivers who don’t mind spending extra money can use an impressive range of available features, from Super Cruise to front and rear lighting animations. Customizable ambient lighting, heated front seats, and flush door handles round out your options further.

The Blazer EV Offers Top Performance and Style

Larger than the Equinox EV, the Blazer EV is a midsize SUV that offers maximum performance. With an EPA-estimated range of 324 miles, the Blazer EV can really go the distance. One Pedal Driving and Regen on Demand provides the best range for longer drives.

Inside the Blazer EV, drivers will find a standard 11-inch diagonal driver information screen, a 17.7-inch diagonal display screen, and wireless charging. Google built-in compatibility makes it easy to access apps directly from the center display.

Every Blazer EV comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist, so drivers can have the peace of mind of knowing their families will be protected. From automatic e-braking to lane keep assist, the suite of driver assistance features makes piloting this EV a breeze.

The Silverado EV Gets the Job Done Right

The Silverado EV is one of the most impressive EV pickups on the market. With a GM-estimated range of up to 460 miles and up to 12,500 lbs of max available towing, it’s more than capable of putting in a good day’s work.

Drivers looking for impressive power can enable Wide Open Watts to harness up to 760 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque. Those more interested in maneuverability often cite Sidewinder as their favorite feature of the Silverado EV, as it enables the truck to move diagonally at low speeds.
The Silverado EV is more than just an impressive EV pickup truck. Drivers who invest in a GM Energy PowerShot Charger and Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit can also use their trucks to power their homes during blackouts for up to 21 days of reduced energy use.

Find the Best EV for Your Lifestyle

With three excellent options for electric vehicles, drivers have no trouble finding what they need at the Chevy dealer. The Equinox EV and Blazer EV are excellent family SUVs, while the Silverado EV is one of America’s most impressive electric trucks. There’s something for everyone in Chevrolet’s electric vehicle lineup.

Hyundai is in full electric swing and will soon have more electric vehicles in its lineup than Tesla. Let’s see what each Hyundai EV has to offer.

Hyundai has done more than simply add electric powertrains to some of its traditional gas and hybrid vehicles. The brand has developed a global electric platform, which is the basis for the growing electric car lineup from this Korean brand. Like Volkswagen, Hyundai shares its platform and technology with other brands, namely Kia and Genesis, which also offer electric models.

Here’s what Hyundai’s growing electric car lineup offers.

Hyundai Kona Electric

If you’re looking for a small electric SUV, the Hyundai Kona Electric is one of the top choices. This little SUV is the vehicle that launched Hyundai’s growing electric car lineup. It gives you an enjoyable drive and up to 261 miles of driving range on a full battery. The Kona Electric is great for your commute and its small enough to fit in every parking space along crowded city streets, giving you a great vehicle to drive and enjoy.

In addition to the small size and good driving range, the Kona Electric is relatively spacious, despite its small footprint. It also has an attractive interior package and excellent warranty coverage to keep you driving for a long time. There’s a new N Line trim which gives you a sportier look than the rest of the lineup.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been awarded the Best Buy Award from Kelley Blue Book, and it is one of the most incredibly useful EVs on the market. This electric SUV is easy to live with on a day-to-day basis, which is exactly what you expect out of your EV. The most popular choice in the Ioniq 5 lineup is the SEL model with AWD, which has two electric motors to send 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque to the wheels.

The battery capacities have been expanded for both batteries in the Ioniq 5 for 2025. This ensures it has up to 20 additional miles of driving range. The XRT grade is new for 2025, giving this compact electric SUV the off-road credibility desired.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

The Ioniq 5 N is the high-performance version of the Ioniq 5. This exciting and fun small SUV makes it easy to admire and enjoy the electric platform that makes it easy to rocket down the road. This is the most powerful production car from the brand, using two electric motors to generate 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque in boost mode. When the boost isn’t being used, it still makes 601 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to all four wheels. The Ioniq 5 N is fast and exciting, showing how much fun an EV can be.

Hyundai did more than add power to this EV to make it more exciting. Part of Hyundai’s growing electric car lineup includes making performance-oriented models more fun to drive. The Ioniq 5 N has wider tires and additional performance upgrades to keep the power harnessed and under control.

Hyundai Ioniq 6

The growing electric car lineup from Hyundai includes a sedan. That sedan is the Ioniq 6, which is stylish, exciting, and extremely competitive. This EV can drive for up to 361 miles on a full charge. The battery can be recharged to 80% in only 18 minutes, which is pretty quick. The most popular choice for this electric sedan is the SEL with AWD, which has two electric motors sending 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels, giving you the power and performance to be fun on any road.

The SE model with the RWD setup and single motor has only 149 horsepower, but it can be had with a longer-range battery, which increases the power to 225 ponies. This might be the Ioniq 6 that’s right for you, but the AWD models are much more compelling.

Hyundai Ioniq 9

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 was known for a short while as the Ioniq 7, and it enters the current model year as a new vehicle and a three-row electric SUV. You can take up to seven passengers along for the ride and enjoy the experience together. This SUV is expected to have two powertrains, one that sends power to the rear wheels using only one electric motor, and the other with two electric motors sending power to all four wheels.

The Ioniq 9 is one of the first three-row electric SUVs that comes from a mainstream brand. This means you can have the seating you need and pay a lot less than you will if you shop for a Tesla Model X, Rivian RS1, or Volvo EX90. This makes the Ioniq 9 a great choice.

This is what driving can look like when you go to a Hyundai dealership and drive away in a Hyundai Ioniq 9… You have a 300-mile drive to your destination, a full cup of coffee, and a fully charged battery. If all goes well, you should make it by late afternoon without having to stop to charge, and still have some extra juice left to spare.

The Latest Battery Tech Helping Boost Range

The Ioniq 9 is a large SUV, but this doesn’t stop it from cruising long distances without needing to recharge the battery. Not only does it have a large battery, but it has new battery tech to give it longer driving range. The 110.3 kWh battery has an estimated range of 335 miles.
It will have the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port straight from the factory, allowing drivers to charge up at Tesla’s Supercharging network.

Choose Your Performance

It’s not surprising that the Ioniq 9 shares many of its mechanical bits with the Kia EV9. It will be available with three different motor configurations. It starts with rear-wheel drive and a long-range battery and a single motor that develops 215 horsepower.
If you want all-wheel drive, you can add another motor to the front axle and keep the long-range battery to bump horsepower to 309.
Performance all-wheel drive models switch out the standard motors for two more powerful motors. This setup is the quickest of the options. Press on the accelerator and you’ll get to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds. You can reduce this to 4.9 seconds if you opt for the 21-inch wheels.

Let’s Take a Look Inside

Is soon as you get inside the Ioniq 9 you’ll see why this SUV is a step above any other three-row SUV on the market. The front seats are newly designed. Hyundai calls them Relaxation Seats because they feature dynamic massage.
But it’s not just the front seat passengers who get the royal treatment. The second-row passengers in the captain’s chairs can swivel to face their friends in the back, and everyone has plenty of head and legroom: even if you’re sitting in the third row.

Innovative Technology for Fun and Info

Hyundai simplifies your driving and riding experience with user-friendly technology. A panoramic curved display stretches across the dash, featuring a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. You’ll have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for syncing your phone to the touchscreen, and wireless charging to make it easy to keep your phone fully charged. When it’s time to turn up the volume, the available 14-speaker Bose stereo will turn your drive into a rolling concert.

Safety Is Still a Priority

When you shop for a vehicle at a Hyundai dealership, you know you’ll be getting a vehicle with the latest safety technology. The Ioniq 9 has the latest advanced driver aids from pedestrian detection to lane-departure warning, forward avoidance assist, and intelligent speed limit assist.

Are there any EVs that won’t give you range anxiety? Eventually you’ll run out of fuel, but the longest-range EVs can go longer than others.

The challenge drivers face when using electric vehicles is the time spent recharging the batteries. Many EVs can now drive longer than ever before, but that doesn’t reduce the charging time. Despite the improvements in charging, when drivers want to take long road trips, it’s more time-consuming in electric vehicles because of the time it takes to recharge. Thankfully, the top five longest-range EVs give you the driving range to avoid charging for longer than other vehicles.

Tesla Model S: 402 Miles

The Tesla Model S is the original long-range EV, proving electric cars could drive for several miles without recharging. This amazing car has been a leader in the luxury electric car industry for many years, giving the world several high-powered models, including the Plaid edition.

The electrified powertrain of the Model S makes it an instant hit on the road, ensuring it can sprint to 60 mph in a hurry. The base powertrain hits the top levels of the driving range, ensuring you have up to 402 miles of range on a full charge. If you choose the high-performance Plaid trim, you’ll still have 348 miles of driving range.

Rivian R1S: 410 Miles

Lab testing of products is usually fairly accurate, and often when you get a product into the real world, it doesn’t perform as well as it did in the lab. But, this is not the case for the batteries you have in your electric SUVs. Surprise! Real-world driving is better for EV batteries!

Under the Hood of the New EV Battery Study

A new study was recently done by scientists in the SLAC-Stanford Battery Center. This center is a joint venture between Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy and the SLAC National Accelerator Lab.
They found that batteries used real-world conditions such as heavy traffic, short trips in the city, and even long highway trips lasted longer than the batteries that were originally tested in the lab. In the lab, they simulated use by creating a constant rate of discharge and then recharging.

What Did the SLAC-Stanford Battery Center Do?

The SLAC-Standford Battery Center conducted their test differently than the previous battery tests. They replicated real-world conditions and driving patterns by designing different discharge patterns based on real data. They tested 92 lithium-ion batteries for over two years using a variety of different scenarios such as electronic starting and stopping, to mimic real conditions.

What Did They Find?

Once batteries were being used out in real driving conditions, including long periods of being parked, they realized that the way they were testing the batteries in the lab was not a good way to predict the life expectancy. Other driving habits such as frequent acceleration, braking the charges the battery, and letting the battery rest for several hours such as overnight, helps them last up to 40 percent longer.

So What Does This Mean for EV Drivers?

What does this pleasant surprise mean for people who already drive electric vehicles or are looking into buying electric SUVs? It means that EV drivers could save a significant amount of money in the long run.
One of the things that was holding some car buyers back from choosing an EV over a gas vehicle was the idea that they would have to replace the battery, Now, they can feel more comfortable with the idea of an EV, knowing that the replacement is many years down the road. Batteries that last longer help reduce the overall cost of owning an EV.

What Affects Battery Life

EV batteries can last 10 or 20 years, but there are many things that can have an effect on how long they last. One of the biggest factors is battery chemistry. There are two main types of batteries found in EVs: lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride. Most EVs have lithium-ion batteries.
In addition to the type of battery, the environmental conditions can impact its lifespan. Extreme heat and cold can affect the chemical process. DC fast charging is another factor that can affect battery life. Frequent use is linked to faster degradation.

The second Acura EV is going from concept to reality to become the 2026 Acura RSX. This name returns as an electric coupe-style crossover.

Do you remember the RSX name? It was used for a short time for a car that was sold in the United States from 2002 to 2006. In what has become a popular tradition, the brand is bringing back the RSX name to be a new compact electric SUV that will slot below the ZDX. The new RDX will feature a sloping coupe-like roofline and should be the first all-electric Acura model developed without the GM Ultium battery platform.

What will this mean for the Acura brand?

Acura is focused on the future, with EV models heading to market to follow the ZDX. This new electric crossover was revealed at the Monterey Car Week last year as the Acura Performance EV concept. It will become the first vehicle to use Honda’s new EV platform, which is expected to be the platform used for the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV models. These electric Hondas were on display at the Consumer Electronics Show that opened the 2025 show year, giving us a look at the future of Honda’s EV plans.

Where will this Acura be built?

The new 2026 Acura RSX will be built at the new Honda EV Hub in Ohio. This Honda facility has been under conversion for several months as the brand changes its Marysville and East Liberty plants into locations where hybris and EVs can be built alongside the traditional gas-powered models. The new RSX will become the first EV built at this facility , and the Honda 0-series models will be introduced next. The new RSX is likely to begin production in early 2026, but we don’t have full details about the timing or the vehicle yet.

In the meantime

Breaking through into the electric vehicle market isn’t easy for any automaker, especially one that’s reliant upon other brands to help make its vehicles possible. As the old saying goes ,“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” and that means we should talk about what Acura already offers. Currently, the only electric vehicle from this luxury brand is the ZDX. This useful five-passenger SUV is built using the GM Ultium battery platform. It shares much of the same underpinnings as the Cadillac Lyriq and Chevy Blazer EV, but it is finished at Acura to wear the brand’s personality and style.

Strangely American

You might expect everything that isn’t connected to the batteries to be from Acura in the ZDX, but that’s not the case. This SUV has some of the same switchgear as the GM model instead of using Acura-specific items. This doesn’t take anything away from the ZDX but might make those who notice this wonder why the brand didn’t use its own stuff.

The driving experience in the ZDX is much like the models from GM. Hopefully, when the 2026 Acura RSX appears, it will be a much different experience for drivers. Even the ZDX Type S isn’t as exciting as a performance model should be. That said, the power for this SUV is impressive ,giving you a range rom 358 to 599 horsepower and the choice of RWD or AWD.

The ZDX is quick

Something the new Acura EV will need to live up to is the performance of the current model. The ZDX Type S can rocket to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, which is pretty impressive for an SUV with the added weight of electric batteries. The other models are a bit slower, with the RWD base model hitting the same speed in 5.5 seconds. That’s no slouch, but in the EV world, it might not be as quick as some people would like.

Range and charging speed

Another area where the 2026 Acura RSX will need to perform is the driving range and charging speed. The ZDX has a serious advantage when using the Ultium battery platform. This current SUV provides up to 313 miles of driving range in the RWD A-Spec trim and 304 miles in the AWD version. The Type S achieves 278 miles of driving range, which isn’t bad. This Acura SUV can also add 81 miles of range in only 10 minutes when using a DC fast charging port.

The new 2026 Acura RSX is on the way, but we don’t know much about it yet. It will be the first vehicle on the Honda EV platform, which means there is pressure on it to meet or beat the current EV standards set by other models.

Is the Honda Prologue in the same class as the Hyundai Ioniq 5? These two compact electric SUVs have similarities but some distinct differences.

The Prologue EV is the first of its kind from Honda. Similarly, the Ioniq 5 is the first electric SUV from the Hyundai brand. These two electric SUVs are part of the compact class, which makes it easy to drive when you need to carry up to five people with you, and you want a relatively affordable EV to drive and experience. Let’s look at some of the qualities of each model.

The Honda uses GM technology

Honda partnered with GM to utilize the Ultium battery platform from the Chevy Blazer EV, giving the Prologue the driving range and power necessary. This Honda EV offers the benefits of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are no longer offered in GM EVs. You might find that the Prologue has a little more GM influence than you would like, considering it has some parts and features from the American brand.

The Ioniq 5 is becoming an important model

The Ioniq used to be offered in three different versions, only one of which was an all-electric model. Since 2022, the Ioniq 5 has been an electric vehicle that has won awards for its impressive build and style. This Hyundai EV has the value desired and qualities that can make this SUV easy to drive and enjoy. If you want impressive power and performance, the Ioniq 5 N packs up to 641 horsepower and has the handling to match, giving it the driving presence offered.

What Honda trims are offered?

The traditional Honda naming structure is present with the Prologue SUV. This means you’ll find the EX, Touring, and Elite trims that give you lots of great features. The base EX model comes well-equipped with heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and wireless smartphone charging. The Touring model might be worth the extra money when you see that it has leather upholstery, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and memory seat settings.
If you want the best driving range in the Prologue, you’ll want to stick with the FWD powertrain, which gives you 296 miles of driving range.

What’s new about the Hyundai EV?

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 looks much the same as it did last year. This new 2025 model has two available battery packs, which increase the maximum driving range with the larger battery pack. This Hyundai SUV now has the NACS charging port but still has a CCS adapter, which is part of the standard equipment offered. A new, rugged-looking XRT trim has been added to the mix to give you an off-road version that can be fun to take out on the trails.

What powers the Honda Prologue?

This Honda electric SUV can be had with either a single motor driving the front wheels that produces 212 horsepower or a dual-motor AWD setup that produces 288 horsepower. This EV might not be the most exciting on the road, but it has a good temperament and excellent road manners to make it an SUV that rides smoothly and steadily on every road. You’ll find an adjustable regenerative braking system to capture some braking power and send it back to the batteries.

What powers the Hyundai Ioniq 5?

The Ioniq 5 can be had at several power levels with different battery packs. The standard powertrain sends 168 horsepower to the rear wheels, but the larger battery pack gives you 225 horsepower for the drive desired. If you choose the AWD model, you’ll have 320 horsepower in the models that don’t wear an N badge.

Which EV has a better cabin?

Honda Prologue

The design and cabin build gives you a look that feels a lot like the Blazer EV but has many Honda additions to make it even more enticing than the electric SUV its based on. This impressive model has the look and feel you want, including an infotainment screen that looks and feels like other Honda models with a clutter-free design.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai electric SUV has a tech-savvy cabin with a digitized dashboard and tons of eco-friendly materials. This SUV can be had with a head-up display with an augmented reality that can project navigation directions on the windshield to give you the desirable features you want and need.

The Honda Prologue ahs a nice cabin and good power, but the Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers more options and brings a tech-rich environment to your drive. Which of these electric compact SUVs will you drive?
