Navier Introduces Electric Hydrofoil Boat
House of Navier Event Will Feature the New N30 Pioneer
Navier plans to introduce its N30 Pioneer electric hydrofoil boat at the exclusive House of Navier event in Montauk. The pop-up event will allow certain guests to sea-trial the new watercraft.
Navier is planning an exclusive two-day event in Montauk for July 15 and 16, and it already has people talking. To be held at the Montauk Yacht Club, the House of Navier event will showcase the boatmaker’s N30 Pioneer electric hydrofoil watercraft.
The N30 Pioneer isn’t wholly new. The boat has been around for well over a year, but most American boaters remain unaware of this unique option for exploring the open waters. If you’re interested in electric hydrofoil boats, read on to discover everything you need to know about the N30 Pioneer.
Meet the N30 Pioneer
The N30 Pioneer is a 30-foot electric-powered boat that can accommodate up to nine passengers. The electric hydrofoil watercraft can reach top speeds of 30 knots and has an impressive range of 75 nautical miles. It features cork decking and has a starting price of roughly $550,000.
Hydrofoil watercraft are different from standard boats in that they cruise above the water, not in it. Built on hydrofoils, the N30 Pioneer’s carbon fiber hull sits around four feet above the water level and leaves next to no wake.
Hydrofoils generate lift as water flows over and under them. The lift counteracts the weight of the vessel. This process, in turn, reduces the amount of surface area exposed to the water, thereby reducing drag and enabling higher speeds and improved efficiency.
The N30 Pioneer features two independently controlled 90 kW electric outboard motors. Their design enables boaters to reduce running costs by 90% compared to traditional gas-powered boats. This unique watercraft also features an automatic docking function that uses sensors and software to accommodate wind and tides.
The Rise of the Electric Watercraft
So far, Navier is one of only a handful of companies that are pioneering electric vessels. The company has been in business since January 2021. In the intervening time since its inception, the boatmaker has managed to produce an electric vessel with the most extended range of all competing watercraft.
The N30 Pioneer entered full production in the fall of 2023. The electric hydrofoil watercraft was delivered to the company’s first customer one year later. Although Navier continues to manufacture the N30 Pioneer, its popularity has resulted in a backlog of orders.
There are numerous advantages to electric vessels. They are more efficient than gas-burning boats, more innovative, and require less frequent boat service. However, there are only a limited number of electric hydrofoil watercraft available to today’s boaters, so they tend to be quite expensive.
Who’s Attending the House of Navier Event?
The House of Navier event will be an exclusive affair. The invitation-only two-day pop-up event will focus on attracting investors, media, and cultural leaders to the table. However, those interested can request access to the boatmaker’s website.
